ATMEL 2-megabit (256K x 8) OTP EPROM AT27C020 handbook

The AT27C020 is a low-power, high-performance, 2,097,152-bit, one-time programmable read-only memory (OTP EPROM) organized as 256K by 8 bits. It requires only one 5V power supply in normal read mode operation. Any byte can be accessed in less than 55 ns, eliminating the need for speed-reducing WAIT states on high-performance microprocessor systems. In read mode, the AT27C020 typically consumes 8 mA. Standby mode supply current is typically less than 10 µA. The AT27C020 is available in a choice of industry-standard JEDEC-approved one-time programmable (OTP) plastic PDIP, PLCC and TSOP packages. All devices feature two-line control (CE, OE) to give designers the flexibility to prevent bus contention. With 256K bytes storage capability, the AT27C020 allows firmware to be stored reliably and to be accessed by the system without the delays of mass storage media. Atmel’s AT27C020 has additional features to ensure high quality and efficient production.

The AT45DB041B is an SPI compatible serial interface Flash memory ideally suited for a wide variety of digital voice-, image-, program code- and data-storage applica- tions. Its 4,325,376 bits of memory are organized as 2048 pages of 264 bytes each. In addition to the main memory, the AT45DB041B also contains two SRAM data buffers of 264 bytes each. The buffers allow receiving of data while a page in the main memory is being repro- grammed, as well as reading or writing a continuous data stream. EEPROM emulation (bit or byte alterability) is easily handled with a self-contained three step Read-Modify- Write operation. Unlike conventional Flash memories that are accessed randomly with multiple pages, the AT45DB041B supports page programming, allowing programming or erasing a single page in a single clock cycle.

The device has 32768 8-bit words of 256KB of storage space and uses Atmel's advanced non-volatile CMOS technology. The AT28C256 can be accessed like a static random-access memory for reading or writing, without the need for external components. The device contains a 64-byte page register to allow simultaneous writing of up to 64 bytes of data. During a write cycle, the addresses and 1 to 64 bytes of data are internally latched, freeing the address and data bus for other operations. After the start of a write cycle, the device will automatically write the address and data to the memory.
