LINEAR LT3420/LT3420-1 handbook

The LT3420/LT3420-1 are high voltage photoflash capacitor chargers with automatic refresh. They are designed for use in both digital and film cameras and use a flyback topology to achieve efficiencies up to four times better than competing flash modules. A unique adaptive off-time control algorithm maintains current-limited continuous mode transformer operation throughout the entire charge cycle, eliminating the high inrush current often found in modules. The LT3420/LT3420-1 output voltage sensing scheme indirectly regulates the output voltage by monitoring the flyback voltage, eliminating the need for an output resistor divider or discrete zener diode. This feature allows the capacitor to be quickly charged to 320V from a 5V input voltage, making it suitable for any size photoflash capacitor.

The LT3150 is a fast transient response, low input voltage, very low dropout linear regulator controller. It is suitable for applications such as microprocessors, ASICs, and I/O supplies, logic termination supplies, etc. Its transient response is optimized with ceramic output capacitors and has a very low dropout voltage. By selecting the N-channel MOSFET RDS(ON), dropout voltages below 300mV can be achieved for low VIN to low VOUT applications. The LT3150 also includes a fixed frequency boost converter that generates gate drive for the N-channel MOSFET. The internally compensated current mode PWM architecture combined with the 1.4MHz switching frequency allows the use of tiny, low-cost capacitors and inductors. The LT3150 features a multifunction LDO shutdown pin with latchoff. The fixed frequency 1.4MHz boost converter generates MOSFET gate drive. The independent boost converter shutdown control permits LDO output voltage supply sequencing. The LT3150 is available in a 16-lead SSOP package.

This document introduces the LT ®3028 3028f dual 100mA/500mA low dropout, low noise, micropower regulator with independent inputs. With an external 0.01μF bypass capacitor, output noise is a low 20μVRMS over a 10Hz to 100kHz bandwidth. Designed for use in battery-powered systems, the low 30μA quiescent current per output makes it an ideal choice. In shutdown, quiescent current drops to less than 0.1μA. Shutdown control is independent for each output, allowing for flexibility in power management. The device is capable of operating over an input voltage range of 1.8V to 20V. Output 1 can supply 500mA of output current with a dropout voltage of 320mV. The device can supply 100mA of output current from Output 2 with a dropout voltage of 300mV. Quiescent current is well controlled in dropout. The LT3028 regulator is stable over a 1.22V to 20V output voltage range with as little as 1µF/3.3µF output capacitor and with aluminum, tantalum, or ceramic capacitors. The device is reverse-battery protected, does not require protection diodes, and offers overcurrent and overtemperature protection. It also features tracking/sequencing capability. The LT3028 is available in thermally enhanced 16-Lead TSSOP and 16-Lead (5mm × 3mm) DFN packages.
